Cancellations, Sickness, Holiday Policy
1. Cancellations Policy
Change of plans? Your booking still stands.
We understand that life happens and your needs may change. At the same time, each weekly booking reserves a dedicated caregiver for your family, and cancellations can affect their livelihood and the sustainability of our service. Therefore, Steady Nest's policy is:
-
Cancellations with less than 72 hours’ notice are non-refundable.
-
Cancellations made more than 72 hours before your booking receive a 50% refund, with the remainder kept as a cancellation fee.
-
If you are a regular weekly client of Steady Nest, and no longer require caregiving then a 30 days notice is required.
-
For special occasions booked weeks or months in advance (such as weddings or milestone events), Steady Nest will attempt to rebook the session. If we are able to fill that time, we will waive the cancellation fee as a goodwill gesture. This is not guaranteed.
-
In the event of major storms or emergencies, Steady Nest will follow local advice and communicate directly with families about any changes to bookings.
2. Sickness Policy
Sick today? We stay away.
Safety is at the heart of everything we do – we don’t provide care when anyone in your household is unwell with a potentially contagious illness, and our caregivers stay home when they’re sick too. We appreciate families letting us know if anyone at home is unwell, so that we can keep our Steady Nest village safe.
For Steady Nest, “unwell” includes things like:
-
fever or chills
-
vomiting or diarrhoea in the last 24 hours
-
a runny nose with other cold or flu symptoms
-
any suspected contagious illness
-
unexplained rashes or skin infections
If your usual caregiver is unwell, we’ll do our best to send another your way. If no replacement is available, we’ll reschedule your session or provide a voucher to use within 6 months, so you’re never out of pocket when Steady Nest has to cancel.
3. School Holidays, Annual Leave Policy
Schools away - let's go out to play.
We know extra hours are often needed during the school holidays. During this time, we may offer day trips, supervised play at the parks and pools, and special arts and craft activities. Please let us know your holiday requirements as early as possible for planning purposes. We’ll do our best to extend your regular caregiver’s hours, and if they’re unable to do extra, we’ll try to arrange an additional caregiver. Where a new caregiver is involved, we’ll organise a meet-and-greet before the holidays to make sure everyone is happy. All school holiday bookings are covered by our cancellation policy above.
Festive cheer, we pause each year.
Steady Nest is closed for our annual shutdown period from 20 December 2025 to 4 January 2026, with no bookings or holding fees during this time.
Going away? Your spot can stay.
We reserve an exclusive weekly spot for your child(ren). If you’re going on holidays and would like us to keep that regular spot, a 50% holding fee applies while you’re away. If you prefer not to pay a holding fee, you can release your spot and rebook later, subject to availability.
