Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is Steady Nest?
A Brisbane-based perinatal service providing in-home babysitting and practical family support during pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenting. From meal prep and sleep routines to playtime, school drop-offs, and home organisation, we offer the helping hands every family needs — holding space like a village would.
How are your services different to other babysitting services?
More than a babysitting service, Steady Nest provides holistic in-home support for the whole family. Our caregivers are experienced mothers and qualified professionals who understand parenting from both personal and professional perspectives. We bring the calm, capable care of a village into your home — helping you steady the nest.
Who do you support?
Our ideal Steady Nest clients are:
-
Expecting parents
-
Parents juggling older children and a new baby
-
Migrant families without local support
-
Gift-givers wanting to buy a care package for new parents in Brisbane
What does support include?
Our packages vary, but the range of services we offer are:
-
Baby care and sibling support
-
Light tidying, meal prep, and rest time for parents
-
Emotional check-ins or Chat2Nat counselling (in-home or online)
-
Sleep routines and parenting coaching
-
Accompanied trips to appointments or shopping
Do you clean my home and cook dinner?
Not exactly. Our primary focus is attending to the needs of the family, and if we have time we may do a light tidy up to restore calm, but it is not a cleaning service. We may do some light meal prep if this support is required.
Do you help with older children too?
Yes. We support families navigating sibling transitions and new baby dynamics, school routines, behaviour and boundaries.
Are your staff experienced and vetted?
Yes. Our team includes experienced parents and professionals with backgrounds in early childhood, counselling, teaching and community work. Caregivers undergo thorough background checks, and are fully immunised to keep you and your family safe. Clearances include:
-
Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
-
Police Check
-
First Aid Certification
-
Clear Drivers license
-
CV and references available on request
