Tanya Todorovski
Mother * Family Counsellor * Consultant
Tanya is a qualified family counsellor with a degree in counselling and a major in psychology and sociology. With over two decades of experience supporting children and families, she has worked across a range of educational and therapeutic settings - including special education, mainstream schools, kindergartens, and early childhood centres.
After beginning her career as a family counsellor at a child care centre in Melbourne, Tanya progressed into leadership and became the Director of the centre.
Since relocating to Brisbane in 2002, she has continued to focus on family well-being, child development, and inclusive care practices.
Tanya is currently part of the Parent Aide Unit (PAU) at Catherine's, House, where she works closely with families experiencing significant challenges. Her role involves supporting parents in building safe, nurturing relationships with their children during times of crisis or transition.
In addition to her professional work, Tanya is the mother of two adult daughters - one of whom lives with type 1 diabetes. Her lived experience as a parent deepens her empathy and reinforces her commitment to supporting families with complex and ongoing needs.
Tanya is passionate about creating environments where children feel safe, families feel empowered, and long-term resilience can be built through respectful, trauma-informed care.
